New and Prospective Parents

General Information


A School Tour will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.  Tour begins in the school office.  No need to pre-register; all adults are welcome (adults only, please).  (The tour last about 45 minutes.) 


New Family Information

Open House: Open House is held at the end of each year.  On this night, students  showcase their work to their parents.  For the 2017-2018 school year, Open House will be held on May 31, 2018.
Back to School Night: Back to School Night is held each year during the first few weeks of school. On this night, parents meet with their child's teacher and find out what they can expect for the school year.
Kindergarten Welcome Interviews: Kindergarten Welcome Interviews are optional, but encouraged and will be held on TBD for those students registered for the 2018-2019 school year.  Parents will sign up when they register their child for Kindergarten.  The interviews last approximately 20 minutes in a small group setting and give children the opportunity to meet one of the Kindergarten teachers and become a little more familiar with Franklin. Interviews are scheduled once your child has been enrolled.

Enrollment Procedure

Enrollment for new students is ongoing for the 2017-2018 school year. To enroll your child, you MUST create an account on InfoSnap (link located under "School Info" on this website).  To enroll a Kindergartner, your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2017 (born in 2012 before September 1st).  If you do not have access to a computer, you may come into the school office for your home school and we have computers you may use to register your student.


New student enrollment for 2018-2019 begins on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 9:00am.  Kindergarten Enrollment is first come/first served.  Enrollment begins February 5, 2018 at 9:00am online at  If you do not have access to a computer at home, you may come to Franklin Elementary beginning February 5, 2018 at 9:00am and we will have computers you may use to input your student's enrollment information.  Prospective students will still be required to provide the four documents listed below, either by uploading them to the online registration or by bringing them in person to the Franklin school office.  Kindergartners for 2018-2019 must be 5 years old by September 1, 2018 (born in 2013 before September 1st).  See below for what papers you will need to bring to register.


  • Proof of birth date:
a birth certificate or passport
  • Immunization Record:
record of immunizations to date
  • Proof of residence:
a current PG&E bill (required), plus one of the following:
other utility bill, credit card bill or bank statement

The following are not considered acceptable proof of residence:

  • Escrow Papers
  • Rental Agreement

The following are Required Immunizations to attend Kindergarten.  (Immunizations do not have to be current until your child is five years old or on or before the first day of school):

  • Polio: 4 doses (3 doses if last one was given after the 4th birthday)
  • DPT: 5 doses (4 doses if last one was given after the 4th birthday)
  • MMR: 2 doses (both on or after the 1st birthday)
  • HEP B: 3 doses
  • Chicken Pox: 1 dose

All children need a health checkup before school starts. The exam should be after March 1st and you should bring the Health Exam Form to the doctor and return it to the school after the exam.

After-School Enrichment

The Burlingame Parks & Recreation Department works with Burlingame Schools to provide after-school enrichment classes on campus. Programs include chess, science, art, languages and a variety of sports. Classes are advertised quarterly through our Thursday Franklin Falcon or check direct with the Burlingame Park & Rec at
