Welcome to Franklin Elementary School.

Franklin is one of six elementary schools in the Burlingame School District. We have more than 450 students, 20 classroom teachers, plus an expert team of specialists and additional staff.

Franklin was established in 1958, and is part of a thriving, vital community in the busy Bay Area. We have a wonderfully diverse student body, and a strong, supportive family network.

Welcome

Message from the Principal

Dear Franklin Families,

I am honored to introduce myself to you as Franklin’s new Principal. I am excited about the amazing opportunity that we have to create a welcoming and thriving learning environment here at Franklin. The building blocks are already in place: wonderful students, a talented teaching staff, and a truly supportive community.

I intend to spend much time in the coming weeks getting to know your children.  I look forward to finding out about their personalities, learning styles, needs, and passions. My aim is to become their advocate, champion, and encourager. I will strive to let them know every day that they are valued and have a special place in Franklin’s community. Along with the whole staff, I will be working to provide rigorous, relevant academic experiences which will help our students build relationships and make real-world connections.

I am also looking forward to getting to know you all.  I’m keen to find
out what your hopes and dreams are for Franklin. I welcome your input and expertise and will be reaching out often to hear what you have to say. I know that together we can make the Falcons even stronger.  With your help, Franklin will continue to be a place where students love to learn, teachers love to teach, and the whole community feels welcome and included.

I have included some fun facts about me on this page so that you can begin to get to know who I am and some of the experiences I bring with me to Franklin. I also invite you to come and chat with me over coffee at one of several informal meetings scheduled in the first few weeks of school. These will be held on 9/12/19 and 9/16/19 at 8:45 am, and 9/17/19 at 7 pm.

The first few weeks of school will be filled with exciting activities and lots of learning here at Franklin. I will keep you up to date with all the action via our weekly newsletter, The Franklin Falcon, and through our school Twitter feed (@franklinbsd). The weekend before school begins you will receive a letter in the mail that includes your child’s teacher and room number as well as details about the first day of school.  Included in this letter will be important information from our Franklin PTA.

I look forward to a successful 2019/20 school year here at Franklin Elementary School.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Jude Lawrence
